Anne M. Miller

August 28, 1923 • July 2, 2025

Anne M. Miller, 101 year old resident of St. Cloud, Minnesota (formerly of Randall) passed away July 2, 2025 at her oldest daughter’s home in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.  Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, with Fr. Ben Kociemba officiating. Interment will be in the St. James parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Anne was born on a farm near Benson, Minnesota, August 28, 1923, to Christian and Annie (Hilleren) Larson. She graduated from Benson High School in 1941 as Class Valedictorian.

Anne was united in marriage to Melvin Miller  June 12, 1950, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo, North Dakota. The couple moved to Melvin’s home area of Mott, North Dakota to farm. In 1953, they bought a 200-acre farm (eventually 240 acres) west of Randall, where they moved their growing family and raised livestock and crops. In 1972, Melvin was elected a State Representative, representing western Morrison and Todd Counties in the Minnesota Legislature. Two weeks after his re-election in November 1974, Melvin died suddenly of a heart attack, leaving Anne a widow with eight of their 13 children still at home. In 1975, Anne made the decision to move her family to St. Cloud which then remained her home for the next 50 years. She was also a 50-year member of St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud – a testament to her Catholic faith. Anne was an avid reader. Her favorite books being historical biographies. She also enjoyed traveling with Minnesota Farmers Union tour groups visiting much of the USA, plus numerous countries overseas. Her greatest joy was having her family stop by to catch up on their lives and her grandkids’ lives. Phone calls were always welcomed too!

Anne is survived by 12 of her 13 children, sons: David (Cheryl) Miller, Brainerd, MN, Keith (Lynette) Miller, Randall, MN; Craig (Teryl) Miller, Mesa, AZ, Neil (Nancy) Miller, Kerkhoven, MN; and Brian (Maria) Miller, Richmond, MN; daughters: Barbara (Chuck) Wocken, Sauk Rapids, MN, Joyce Crozier, St. Cloud, MN, Mary Ellen (Steve) Anderson, Harrisonburg, VA, Jean (Perry) Nouis, Plymouth, MN, Carla (Dan) Clark, Green Bay, WI, Kay (Jon) Lundberg, Phoenix, AZ, Amy (Jack) Crandall, De Pere, WI; daughter-in-law, Dolly Miller, Flensburg, MN; 53 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Miller; son John Miller; parents, Christian and Annie Larson; siblings: Harriet Miller, Lawrence Larson, Roy Larson, and Delphine Groh.

A special thank you to Chris and Stephanie at the Model College of Hair Design in St. Cloud. They made our mother’s weekly hair appointments comfortable and welcoming. Anne Miller was an extraordinary woman who had an extraordinary life. She will be extraordinarily missed.
