Storm fall in double OT to PC in section opener

Brady Goff (20) grabs a loose puck from behind the MBA net as Will Breuer (5) battles with an opponent. MBA lost to PC in the section opener.

The MBA Storm fell to Prairie Centre in the Section 6A opener, Saturday night in Sauk Centre, 5-4 in double overtime.  The Storm were seeded 10th in the 10-team section, while Prairie Centre was seeded seventh.

The Storm trailed 3-1 after two periods, but rallied with three goals in the final period.  However, PC scored 12 seconds into the second overtime to earn the victory and move on to the quarterfinal round.

Earlier in the week, the Storm had two games canceled to close out the regular season.  MBA was scheduled to play Breckenridge-Wahpeton last Tuesday and play at Marshall, Thursday, but both of those games were called off due to weather.

MBA lost to Prairie Centre twice earlier this season, 9-3 and 4-1, but this time, the Storm were up to the challenge, falling just short of the upset win.
