Arnold Clifford Maus, 94, of Benson, Minnesota died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Scandi Haven of Cura in Benson. His memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Spring burial will be at Benson City Cemetery.
Arnold Clifford Maus was born May 13, 1930, to August and Agnes (Wolsliger) Maus in Montevideo. He grew up in Benson where he attended Country School 28 until the 7th grade. In 1947, Arnold enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea until his honorable discharge in 1951.
November 23, 1953, Arnold was united in marriage to Alvina Wiebold in Watertown, South Dakota. They moved to Anaconda, Montana where Arnold started working as a copper smelter. After a few years, they moved to Bandon, Oregon where Arnold worked in a rock quarry.  September 1, 1958, they moved home to Benson where they made their home on the Gerhard Mitteness East Farm. Arnold was known for being a hard worker on the farm. He continued to work on the Gerhard Mitteness East Farm for 27 years. He then drove truck until his retirement.  In retirement, he operated a lawn care and snow removal business.  He enjoyed going to the casino, playing pull tabs, and traveling to visit his daughter in Santa Barbara, Albuquerque and Los Alamos. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Alvina; children: Wayne (Mary) Maus, Cheryl (Harry) Henkel and Jim Maus, all of Benson; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 14 siblings.
