Kelly Sue Svor was born April 27, 1974 in Willmar, MN to Steve and Gail (Johnson) Svor.  Kelly grew up in Benson, MN where she attended the Benson Public Schools.  In 1980, Kelly’s family bought the local roller skating rink and opened the Svor Family Roller Rink where Kelly spent many a weekend, helping out and learning to skate like a champion.  She and her father danced to many a song throughout the years.  Kelly graduated from Benson High School in 1992 and left home to attend Concordia College, Moorhead, MN where she was a member of the Concordia Choirs, touring Europe with the Concordia College Concert Choir her senior year.  During the summer of 1994, Kelly met her future husband, Corey Fuhrman, while working as a counselor at Luther Crest Bible Camp, Alexandria, MN.  Kelly graduated from Concordia College in 1996 with a BA in Early Childhood Education.  Kelly began work with the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District as an Early Childhood Educator.  Kelly and Corey were married on August 30, 1997 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, MN and moved to Columbus, OH, while Corey was finishing his education.  In 1998, they moved to rural Milan, MN, where Kelly taught Early Childhood Education for Clara City, Montevideo and Clarkfield school districts.  In 2000, Kelly and Corey, along with their first Daughter, Carly, moved to Fargo, ND, where Kelly once again joined the staff of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District in Early Childhood Education.  Kelly’s passion was helping parents navigate the early years of their children’s lives.  In 2001, Kelly, Corey and family moved to West Fargo, ND where they welcomed two more children, Jonah and Jacob.  In 2012, the family moved to Bemidji, MN where Kelly could focus on what she loved, being a mother and helping her family grow into the best people they could be.  Shortly after they arrived in Bemidji, Kelly began having symptoms which ultimately resulted in her diagnosis with metastatic lung cancer six months later.  She waged a courageous battle over the next two years, inspiring many by her faith and love of life.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Corey Fuhrman of Bemidji, MN; her children, Carly, Jonah and Jacob Fuhrman all of Bemidji, MN; parents, Gail and Steve Svor of Benson, MN; siblings, Kristi Svor of Fargo, ND, Kayla (Darrin) Carlson along with their children, Graham and Annie, of Lakeville, MN and Josh (Jami) Svor of Fargo, ND; grandmothers, Helen Svor and Bernice Wanberg both of Benson, MN; mother-in-law, Sophie Fuhrman of Milnor, ND; brother-in-law, Brian (Bobbi) Fuhrman and their children, Kari and Kris, of Milnor, ND; and sister-in-law, Deb (Dave) Wagner of Milnor, ND and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
