MILTON TURNQUIST

Milton Turnquist, 89, of Benson, Minnesota died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Meadow Lane in Benson.  
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21 at Sunburg Free Lutheran Church with burial in Frank Lake Covenant Cemetery.  Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Monday at Harvey Anderson Kerkhoven Funeral Home in Kerkhoven and continued for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Paul Milton Turnquist was born May 9, 1929, in Willmar, the son of David and Julia (Larson) Turnquist.  He was baptized and confirmed at Frank Lake Covenant Church.   He attended District 40 Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Murdock High School in 1947.  He served in the US Army, having completed his basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO and had served overseas in Germany.  Upon his discharge, he returned to the farm where he remained until moving in Gabriel House in Murdock and most recently Meadow Lane in Benson.

Milton loved hunting, fishing, bowling and trapping and he frequently attended Bible studies at Sunburg Free Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his siblings: Laura Hart of Brooklyn Center, Roger Turnquist of Willmar and Gwen Turnquist of Willmar; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Jim Hart and sister-in-law, Mary Turnquist.
