The KMS football team recently held its season-ending banquet and announced the season-ending awards. 

The Saints went 9-2 overall this year, including a 6-1 mark within the Mid-State Blue sub-district to share the title with Royalton.

KMS also earned the top seed in the Section 4A Tourney, and beat BBE (63-20) and Kimball Area (28-12) in the first two rounds before losing to Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity in the championship at St. John’s University, 33-6. 

LP-HT went on to lose to Springfield in the state quarterfinals, 24-22.

KMS and Royalton tied for the Mid-State Blue title with 6-1 league marks.  Finishing third in the sub-district were Upsala-Swanville Area and Kimball Area (both 4-3), while Browerville-Eagle Valley and Parkers Prairie were tied for fifth with 3-4 records, New York Mills was seven at 2-5, and BBE was 0-7.

Seniors lost to graduation from this year’s KMS football team are Weston Gjerde, Kolby Lindquist, Dylan Rudningen, Caleb Heidelberger, and Regan Carlson.

“This team has nothing to hang their heads about,” co-coach Matt Fragodt said.  “They came a long ways from the beginning of the year and our seniors really played well for us all season and they will be missed.”...
