KMS wins twice at home triangular

Jared Carlson earned his 98th career win during a victory over Morris Area last Tuesday.  He earned victory No. 100, Saturday at Alexandria.

The KMS wrestling team had a busy week, hosting a triangular last Tuesday and also competing at the Alexandria “Big Ole” Tournament, Saturday.

The Saints won both of their matches during the triangular, beating Morris Area (46-27) and Paynesville (43-29) to raise their season record to 9-5.

At the Alexandria Tourney, KMS finished third of nine teams with Coy Gunderson (106 pounds), Will Magaard (120), and Richard Jones (170) winning individual titles for the Saints.

Jared Carlson went 2-1 to place second at 138 pounds during the Alexandria Tourney.  His first win during the tourney was his 100th career victory, making him the 37th wrestler at KMS to reach the major milestone.

This week, KMS was set to compete at the NLS triangular, Tuesday (yesterday), before traveling to Benson for a match at 5:30 p.m., Friday in what will end up determining who the fourth seed will be for the upcoming Section 6A Team Tournament.  The NLS triangular was postponed due to cold, but a makeup date has not been set...
