The Benson wrestling team picked up a big win over KMS last week during a triangular in Benson, Friday night.  The Braves topped the Saints, 42-29, winning against KMS for the first time since 2005.  Benson trailed early against KMS, 23-4, but rallied by winning seven of the final eight matches.

Later in the night, the Braves lost a close match to United (Montevideo, LQP, and DB), putting the team’s overall record at 10-7 and conference mark at 2-4.

“It was a big win for our team and program,” Benson coach Scott Thompson said.  “Our team is really wrestling well right now and we are peaking at the right time.  The win should get us the third or fourth seed in the section tourney, which means we will host a quarterfinal match in Benson, Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.”

The Braves are set to close out the regular-season this week with the WCC Meet at BOLD, Tuesday (yesterday) and a triangular at BBE, Thursday (tomorrow), which also includes Quad County...
