MARLENE ANN SKOLD
November 12, 1932 • March 22, 2019

Marlene Ann Skold, 86, of Willmar, Minnesota (formerly of Benson)  died Friday, March 22, 2019, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.  Visitation was from 1-2 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials were preferred to the B.A.C.K. pack Program (Benson Area Cares for Kids) P.O. Box 141 Benson, MN 56215.

Marlene Ann Anderson Skold was born November 12, 1932 in Hettinger, North Dakota to Marion and Sally Anderson.  Marlene attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and transferred to the University of Minnesota to complete her degree as a Public Health Nurse.  Marlene worked as a Public Health Nurse in Bird Island, Minnesota and in Swift County.  She later worked at Swift County Benson Hospital and later became the school nurse and occupational health Instructor for the Benson School District.  Marlene went on to teach the CNA program at Ridgewater College in Willmar.

Marlene married Gale Skold in 1956. They had two daughters, Mary and Martha.  Marlene was an avid reader, was the church librarian for over 40 years and was on the board for the Benson Public Library. She loved to sew and enjoyed quilting.  Her Norwegian heritage was very important to her as she kept in contact with her cousins in Norway, researched her ancestry and traveled to Norway several times, was a long-time member of Sons of Norway and loved making lefse with her grandchildren.

Marlene was called from this life Friday, March 22, 2019, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.  She was preceded in death by her father Marion Anderson, mother Sally Larson Anderson, husband Gale Skold, and sister Colleen Morris.

Marlene is survived by her daughters, Mary (Dane) Henderson of Canterbury, England and Marti (Bob Jordan) Skold-Jordan of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren: Caroline (Michael) Nelson, Elizabeth Henderson, Alison Henderson, David Henderson, Kirstin Jordan, and Tre (Julia) Jordan; great-grandsons, Theodore and Benjamin Nelson; and her brother, Skip (Kathy) Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Arrangements were with Zniewski Funeral Home.
