Braves top Monte and Minnewaska

The Benson softball team earned two more wins last week to improve to 4-8 overall and 4-6 in the WCC.  The Braves pulled out a 7-6 win at Montevideo last Tuesday to get the week going, and then split a doubleheader at Minnewaska Area, Thursday, losing the first game 11-3, but coming back to win the second 7-5.

The week ended with an 8-2 home loss to ACGC, Friday.  Maranda Wieber had a great week for the Braves, going 9-for-14 during the four games, including a 3-for-3 effort during the loss to ACGC.

This week, the Braves go on the road for a game at Morris Area, Tuesday (yesterday) and a doubleheader at Melrose Area, Thursday (tomorrow).

The start of the Section 3AA Tourney is slated to begin Tuesday, May 21. 

Morris Area and Minneota-Canby are the top two seeds in Benson’s half of the section and the Braves will start the tournament at one of those two schools...
