The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  All members present:  James Berens, Paul Carruth, Mary Langan, Bill McGeary, Eric, Peterson, Brian Samuelson, Gary Williams. 

Approved agenda, with MRVED presentation after Construction Update.

Julie Carroll will provide citizens comment on Gymnastics later on the Agenda.

Becky Lysen, 6th grade parent, stated concerns about unique challenges, student behavioral issues and the new scheduling format for 6th grade.

Approved consent agenda.

Administrators presented progress reports.

Northside Construction Bids:  Ryan Breitbach reviewed 28 bid categories for NS construction project and gave recommendations. No bids received for Bid category, #2 for steel, to be rebid.

Approved bids totaling $6,025,016, holding on bid #11 for flooring to receive further clarification from the architect, and rejecting bid #16 for lockers.

Construction Update:  Ryan Breitbach stated the new East gym is complete; Demo on the old JH auditorium went very well; Bids for Bid Package #2 are due August 22nd; Steel bids are due August 1st and awarded August 5th.

Presentation on MRVED (MN River Education District) services was presented.

Approved to increase fees $5 for 2019-2020 and refer consideration of free admission for senior citizens and students to Garrett Schmidt, AD, to discuss with Activities Committee for next year.

Approved 7-12 Student Handbook. 

Approved PK-6 Student Handbook.

Presentation by the Kindergarten teachers will be revisited next year.

Approved the 10 year Long Term Facilities Maintenance Plan.

Accepted Pan O Gold’s low bread bid for $31, 065.51.

Accepted Kemps low escalating milk bid for $37,766.50.

Approve the 2019-2020 prices as listed below:

Snack Break:    3 checks/year $30 each or 1 check/year $90

Approved taking the next step to write a lease agreement to use the civic center for gymnastics.

Chair Samuelson recommended the board discuss engaging in a self-evaluation process.  The board referred it to the Administration Committee.
