John F. Harder, 87, died Thursday evening, September 5, 2019 at the Rice Care Center in Willmar, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will follow the service at the Benson City Cemetery.

John F. Harder was born January 2, 1932, in Trimont, Minnesota, the son of Anton F. and Helena Golden Harder. As a teen he moved with his family to Atwater, and in 1948 he moved to Sunburg.

November 28, 1981, John was united in marriage to Donna Mae Collins at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. This union was blessed with over 37 years of marriage.  John farmed, worked at Jennie O in Willmar, and sold Trojan Seed corn. He enjoyed metal detecting and collecting.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Willmar, step children Steve (Diane) Collins, Dennis (Mary) Collins, Jeff (Margaret) Collins, Jody (Jackie) Collins, Bonnie (Gary Michaels) Wrobleski, Luann (Bruce) Moen, Tim (Teresa) Collins; grandchildren: Todd, Terry, Tammy, Scott, Jami, Adam, Josh, Jordan, Jenna, Tammy, Trista, Troy, Travis, Johnathan, Jennifer, Tasha, and Kristin; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Helena, two sisters, two step-sons, one grandson, and a niece. Blessed be his memory.
