Tennis team earns fifth seed for section tourney

The Benson-KMS girls tennis team closed out the regular-season by taking part in the WCC Individual Tourney, Saturday at Alexandria.  The Fighting Braves did great at the WCC Tourney with all but one of the entries going 2-1 during the full day of tennis, including Kaitlyn Berreau at third singles, Hannah Andrews and Halle Bundy at first doubles, and Amy Zniewski and Hannah Helms at second doubles, who all placed second.

Minnewaska Area, which went undefeated during conference play to earn the WCC title, also won all seven individual titles at the season-ending tourney.

Earlier in the week, the Fighting Braves fell 7-0 to Minnewaska Area last Tuesday night in Benson, and 7-0 at Osakis, Thursday.  The Lakers earned the top seed in the section, followed by Osakis, Montevideo, LQP-DB, Benson-KMS, Morris Area/WCA, MACCRAY, and YME.

Benson earned the fifth seed of the eight Section 6A teams and was set to play at fifth-seeded Lac qui Parle-DB in the opening round, Thursday (tomorrow). 

The Section 6A Team Tournament continues Oct. 8 at Fargo, while the opening two rounds of the Section 6A Individual Tourney are set to begin Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Fargo...
