Benson volleyball drops pair of WCC decisions to BOLD and ACGC

The Benson volleyball team is looking at going on the road for the playoffs after dropping two conference matches last week.

The Braves lost at home to BOLD last Tuesday, 3-2, and also fell at Atwater-CGC, Thursday in Grove City, dropping Benson’s record to 7-13 overall and 2-9 in the conference.

The Braves went 8-15-1 overall last year and 5-9 in the WCC.  This year’s team was hoping to become the first Benson volleyball team since 2011 to finish the season with a winning record.  That year, the Braves went 16-9 in Shannon Schmidt’s first year as head coach, and the following season Benson was 11-11.

The Braves are set to close out the regular season with a match at Montevideo, Tuesday (yesterday), followed by a home match against Minnewaska Area, Thursday (tomorrow), and a contest at Morris Area-CA, Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the regular-season finale...
