Jean Marie Dokken was born May 22, 1943 to Oscar Marvin and Ruth Viola (Vinge) Dokken at the Swift County Benson Hospital, Benson, MN.

Jean was baptized, confirmed and married at East Zion Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck, MN.  She was raised on a farm and helped with haying, plowing, milking cows, gardening, mowing, preserving foods and trapping gophers!

Since the farm land was not yet consolidated with a town school, she stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Dokken and went to first grade in Benson, second and third grade at District 29, a one room rural  school, fourth, fifth and sixth grades at Hancock Public School, seventh through twelfth at Starbuck Public School.  She graduated in 1961 as co-salutatorian of her class.

Jean and Dean Anderson were married June 20, 1964.  They were blessed with three adopted children, Jeff, Danelle, and Jason, and raised one granddaughter, Ashley.

The couple moved extensively.  Jean found employment wherever they lived.  She was always active in church and community activities.  She taught Sunday School for 40 years and was a confirmation guide for 7 years.  Since moving to St. Boni in June, 2012, Dean passed away, and she bravely fought cancer.

Her favorite past time now was to listen to gospel or classical music while she sewed quilt tops for the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area homeless.  She was a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Quilters and was a communion assistant.

Jean really felt blessed by her children and wonderful neighbors wherever they lived. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, her parents, grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by Granddaughter Ashley, son Jeff (Erin) Anderson, Noah and Riley, daughter Danelle (Mike Loomer) Anderson and Katelynn (Taylor Fennell), son Jason (Rohini) Anderson, Nathan, Emmett and Wyatt, sister Marlys (Mick) Boone, brother Wayne (Sheila) Dokken, many nieces and nephews, and close friend, Al Berge.

Blessed be the memory of Jean Anderson.
