KMS tops Benson in four games in section tourney

The Benson volleyball team won its first Section 5A match over Kaleidoscope Charter School, but the Braves’ season came to an end one night later with a 3-1 loss to KMS in the round-of-16, Friday night in Kerkhoven.

The Braves ended the season with a 9-16 overall record and 3-11 mark within the WCC, while KMS improved to 16-11 and was set to move on to face Browerville-Eagle Valley at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday (yesterday) at Long Prairie GE-High School.

Seniors lost to graduation from this year’s Benson volleyball team are Claire Ricard, Mariah Ahrndt, Kara Kannegiesser, Abby Lundebrek, and Abbie Mitteness.

The Section 5A Tourney continues Oct. 31 at LPGE and Little Falls, and the championship match is set for 7 p.m., Nov. 2 at Little Falls High School...
