The Benson boys basketball team won two more games last week to improve to 3-0 to start the season.  The Braves won a non-conference game at home last Tuesday night over BBE, 73-56, and then handed the Minnewaska Area Lakers their first loss of the season during a 68-61 win, Friday night in Benson.

“I was extremely happy with our team’s effort in both games this week,” coach Adam Jensen said.  “So far, we have had three different leading scorers in three games, which shows that any of our guys can have the hot hand on any given night.”

The Braves, coached by Adam Jensen, will face another big test Tuesday (yesterday) when they play at BOLD.  Benson is also set to host the Benson Invitational, Friday and Saturday with Hancock, ACGC, and MACCRAY also set to take part.

The Braves will play ACGC, Friday, in one semifinal game which will also count as a conference game.

“The excitement around Benson basketball has been awesome to start the season; the energy in the gym from our team, our student section, and all Benson fans has been electric,” Jensen said.  “I am grateful and proud to be part of this program and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.  Thanks to everyone that has helped make it such a successful start...”
