The Benson-KMS girls tennis team is set to open up the 2020 season Thursday, Aug. 27 (tomorrow) at Morris Area-WCA.  The Fighting Braves will be playing a condensed schedule this season, due to COVID-19, and the team also has a new head coach as Coleton Anderson has taken over for Jonas Grossman, who resigned after one season at the helm of the girls tennis program.

The Fighting Braves went 9-9 overall last year under the direction of Grossman, including a 5-3 mark within the WCC to place fourth in the 9-team league behind league champion Minnewaska Area (8-0), second-place LQP-DB (7-1), and third-place Montevideo (6-2).

The Fighting Braves have nine dual matches scheduled this season, one against each of the other WCC teams along with a match against perennial sectional power Osakis.  The final matches of the season will be at a two-day WCC Team Tourney, set for Sept. 29 and Oct. 1 at a site yet to be determined...
