Cross-country teams to race at Minnewaska Meet this week

The Benson-KMS cross-country team opened up the fall practice schedule Monday, Aug. 17, at Ambush Park, and has continued to practice each day to prepare for the season opener, Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Minnewaska Area.

Back to lead the team is Samantha VanHeuveln, who lost only two seniors to graduation (Will Magaard and Allie Mitteness) although they were both among the leaders for their respective teams.

“I’m excited to see what the season brings,” coach VanHeuveln said.  “So far, things are going well; there are quite a few that put in some miles over the summer and are ready to go, but there are also quite a few that haven’t done anything since last winter and have some work to do to get back up to where they were last season...”
