Thompson and Wirth first at Montevideo meet

The Benson-KMS cross-country teams competed in their third meet this season, Thursday at Montevideo.

The Benson-KMS boys team placed first of the three teams with Landon Thompson placing first individually and Jacob Gareis third, while the Benson-KMS girls team was second behind Melrose, although Isabel Wirth did win the individual title for the Fighting Braves.

Samantha VanHeuveln is back to lead the team as head coach, while Bjorn Bakke is back as the assistant coach.  The team lost only two seniors to graduation (Will Magaard and Allie Mitteness) although they were both among the leaders for their respective teams.

The Benson-KMS cross-country teams were set to compete at Morris Area-CA, Monday, Sept. 21 before getting ready for the second meet in Benson, Thursday, Oct. 1...
