Eugenie L. Boese, 95, died at her home in Holloway, Minnesota, Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

Visitation was held Monday, October 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holloway. Interment followed the service at the church cemetery.

Eugenie Boese was born May 13, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Olga Kroening Walther. She was baptized  June 1, 1925 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eagan and was confirmed May 28, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rabbit Lake. She attended K-5 elementary school in Minneapolis, 5-8 in Iron Hub Country School, graduated from Aitkin High School, and attended teacher’s training in Madison, Minnesota.

Eugenie was united in marriage to Leo V. Boese,  December 30, 1945 in Holloway. They spent their lives together on the family farm north of Holloway where she and her husband raised their five children.

Eugenie served as the church organist for over 16 years at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Holloway, where she also was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Ladies’ Aide. She was a quilter of over 25 beautiful quilts and she made banners for the church. She loved to craft wall hangings for her home and for her family. She was called from this life Wednesday, September 30, at her home in Holloway. She attained the age of 95 years, four months, and 17 days.

She is survived by her children: Steven Boese and his wife Carmen of Laramie, Wyoming, Nancy Oman and her husband Steven of Dover, New Hampshire, Connie Boese of Laramie, Wyoming, and Peter Boese and his wife Betty of Holloway; her grandchildren: Benjamin, Katarina (Mark), Karin (Todd), Laura (Brian), Jacque (James), Eric (Camille) and Kimberly (Jonathan), her great grandchildren:  C. J., Melania, Naomi, Eleanor, James, Evelyn, Liam, Reid, Kaylee, and Gemma; a brother Howard Walther and his wife Elaine of Wadena; and several other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Olga, her husband Leo, a son Terry Boese, and a great granddaughter Eden Rose Quast.

Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel of Appleton assisted the family with the arrangements.
