September wasn’t a good month for stopping the spread of COVID-19 in western Minnesota. In fact,  Swift, Stevens, Lac qui Parle and Big Stone counties all saw their number of cases more than double.

That doubling wasn’t just from the number posted the previous month; it was from the number recorded in the previous seven months.

It is not an encouraging sign for what could lie ahead as the weather turns colder and people are forced inside. It is not encouraging for keeping area schools providing in-class education to students. It is not encouraging for parents, students and fans who want to see a fall and winter sports season...
