Benson earns thrilling 20-18 overtime win over USA

Three clutch plays in overtime helped the Benson football team win its fourth-straight game with a 20-18 overtime victory over Upsala-Swanville Area, Friday night on Brock Field in Benson.

The Braves faced fourth down in overtime when Cole Hedman lofted a 10-yard pass to Abe Peterson for the touchdown and Peterson followed with a two-point pass to Thomas Dineen on a broken play to put Benson up 20-12.

USA scored on fourth down to pull within two points of Benson, but on the two-point try, Kellen Schmidt stopped USA quarterback Carter Johnson cold at the one-yard line to give the Braves the 20-18 win...
