Chair, assistant county attorney spar over administrator contract procedure

At the end of their special year-end meeting Dec. 31, the Swift County Board of Commissioners went into closed session “for a scheduled annual performance review of County Administrator Kelsey Baker.”

When they came out of the closed session, Chair Gary Hendrickx, District 1-Appleton, immediately asked for a motion to approve resolution amending the contract with the county administrator and setting her salary.

At this point, Assistant County Attorney Shawn Reinke asked if the proposed resolution was in the county board packet for the Dec. 31 special meeting. “I am not seeing it on the agenda or in the packet,” he said...
