David J. Monson

David James Monson passed away very unexpectedly at the age of 33 from a pulmonary embolism early on the morning of Sunday, January 17, 2021. He passed while his wife was at his side, reminding him of how much he was loved.

David lived in Roseville, Minnesota with his wife, Liz Erickson Monson, and their dog, Kentucky. He was born and raised in West Fargo, ND. He graduated from West Fargo High school in 2006 and the University of St. Thomas in 2010.

August 27, 2016, he married the love of his life, Liz.

David was an Eagle Scout. He loved to get his “out-doorphins” through biking, golfing, camping, and enjoying time at the lake. He was most recently employed as a design operations manager with Ameriprise Financial.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Erickson Monson, originally of Benson, Minnesota, his parents Nathan and Leighan Monson; his brother Andrew Monson (Melissa Pytlik Monson), and nephew Owen Monson; grandparents Leroy and Sharen Aker, Jerold Monson, and Helen and Don Vonderohe. He leaves behind the Erickson family in-laws - Dean and Karen; Matt, Angela, and Juli; and Nate, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Loretta Monson.

There will be a small ceremony to celebrate David’s life and lay him to rest at Lakewood Cemetery with more celebrations of David to follow later this year.
