Steven Burns, 72, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly December 23, 2021 at the Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara and brother, Rodney (Loretta) of Benson, Minnesota.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Delores Burns also of Benson.
Steve was born in Benson, December 30, 1948 and graduated from Benson High School in 1967.  He joined the US Army and served three years while stationed in Germany.  He graduated from Willmar Vo-Tech. with a degree in Accounting.  He worked at Federated Telephone in Chokio and later at Ottertail Tel Com in Fergus Falls until his retirement.
Steve had a great sense of humor, although it was somewhat unique to him.  He loved the “Calvin & Hobbs” cartoons from the newspaper and “Corner Gas” and “The Red Green Show” on television.  Any casual conversation he was involved in would erupt in laughter sooner rather than later.  He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and had opportunities to see the Indy 500 and other car races in Indianapolis, IN.  Fishing and enjoying time at Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota was also a huge part of the things he enjoyed.  He was a purest in many things from the right way to clean fish to the proper way to grill a steak.  He was his own person and if he had a personal theme song it would have been “I did it my way”.
