Daniel J. Hilleren was born Sept 28, 1948. He passed away May 12, 2022.

He was preceeded in death by his wife Deborah along with his sister Karen and parents Clifford and Ruby.

Daniel was born in Benson Minnesota. He and Debbie were married Sept 24, 1973. Daniel worked many years within the Minnesota prison system starting as detention officer in St. Cloud, Minnesota and ending his career as warden in Moose Lake, Minnesota. Upon retirement, he was able to enjoy fishing a little, golfing with his brothers, and taking road trips. He liked to just jump in the car and drive around the state or see civil war sights. He was an avid reader with a few favorite authors which he collected every book for. Daniel also enjoyed researching history.

He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer and Sarah (Brad). Daniel is also survived by his grandson Daniel, who was a great source of joy for him. It is safe to say the younger Dan had his Grandpa wrapped around his little finger. He is also survived by brothers: Jim, Charles, Scott, Jon, Paul and Dennis along with sisters: Kathy, Patty, and Barb. Daniel will be buried at Little Falls Veterans Cemetery June 3 at 3 p.m. For those wishing to attend, we are asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes in advance. There is parking on the side of the building. A get together for remembrance will follow at the Little Falls American Legion from 3:30 to 5:30. The family asks that instead of flowers or cards a donation be made to the American Heart Association or one for breast cancer. There is no funeral home or church to accept the delivery.
