NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS –

  The Swift County Highway Department is requesting BIDS for the following items until:

10:30 AM Wednesday August 28th 2019

GRAVEL PROCESSING BIDS

  Production and stockpiling of approximately 30,000 cubic yards of Class 5 aggregate in EASTERN Swift County for use on the County Road System.
  Specifications and detailed information for each item can be obtained from the Swift County Highway Administration Building, 1635 Hoban Avenue, PO Box 241, Benson, MN 56215.  Sealed bids/quotes will then be opened and publicly read at 10:30 AM on Wednesday August 28th 2019 at the Swift County Highway Administration Building, 1635 Hoban Avenue, Benson, MN 56215.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LIVESTOCK FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is herby given per Minnesota Statutes, chapter 116, that Rod Lindquist, has made application to the County of Swift for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.

The existing and Proposed feedlot will be located in the SE ¼ of section 13, range 37W, township number 120N, Pillsbury Township, Swift County Minnesota. The existing facility consists of Holstein, Dairy, 367 animals of various sizes, 303 animal units;  consisting of confinement building and buildings with open lots, using liquid and bedding pack manure storage.  The Proposed facility consists of Holstein, Dairy, 300 animals, 318 animal units; consisting of a confinement building with liquid manure storage, in an earthen basin. The total animal unit capacity will be 621 animal units.

SWIFT COUNTY BOARD MINUTES July 16, 2019

Chairman Hendrickx called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. with all members present. Also present: County Administrator Kelsey Baker, other county employees and members of the public.

Chairman Hendrickx asked if there were any changes or additions to the agenda. There were no changes. 

07-16-19-01 Commissioner Fox moved and Commissioner Rudningen seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
07-16-19-02 Commissioner E. Pederson moved and Commissioner P. Peterson seconded to approve the Consent Agenda items: (1) Approval of Minutes from the July 2, 2019 Regular Meeting, (2) Consider approval of County Policies (3) Consider approving Resolution 19-07-32 for appointing Joseph Tschida to a 4-year term as County Assessor for the remainder of Wayne Knutson’s term running until January 1, 2121. Motion carried unanimously.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota Monday, June 17, 2019 - 5:30 p.m. Benson Senior High Media Center

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Paul Carruth, Mary Langan, Bill McGeary, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson and Gary Williams.

Members absent:  None.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Brad Johnson, Mike Knutson, Katie Foley, Pam Anderson, Kendra Razink.

Approved Agenda moving Negotiations Strategy after Donations and Future Meetings.

No citizens comments.

Approved consent agenda as presented.

Progress Reports were presented by administrators.

Construction Update:  Progress on Bid Pkg. #1 is underway with asbestos being removed and demolition starting next week; July 15 is site excavation, prep work for the new auditorium and north of the high school and security fencing installation later this week; Northside specs/drawings were released. Pre-bid meeting June 18, bid opening June 27.
