NOTICE OF FILING FOR THE 2020 STATE GENERAL ELECTION SWIFT COUNTY, MINNESOTA May 1, 2020

Notice is hereby given as pursuant in Minnesota Statutes, section 204B.33 that a general election will be held in Swift County on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, for the purpose of electing candidates for the offices listed below.  The filing period for these offices begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.  Note: Filing offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2020 in observance of Memorial Day.
Candidates may file in person or by mail, if the filing is received during the filing period.  Candidates who will be absent from the state during the filing period and meet the requirements of Minnesota Statutes section 204B.09, subdivision 1a, may arrange to file during the seven days immediately preceding the candidate’s absence from the state.  This notice is sent based on current law.  Be aware that the legislature and/or the Governor may take actions that could affect some of these processes due to the COVID-19 situation.

The work session meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Paul Carruth, Mary KW Langan, Bill McGeary, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson, Gary Williams. Members absent:  None.

Community Education Director Shelly Vergin provided a Community Education update.

Director of Finance Katie Foley provided an update on the financial impact of Covid-19.
Principals Brad Johnson and Mike Knutson gave an update on Distance Learning.
Food Service Director Jeanine Bowman provided an update on Food Service.
Supt. Laumeyer provided an election update for the upcoming April 14, 2020 ISD #777 Special Election.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the Board of Review of the City of Danvers in Swift County, Minnesota, will meet via computer, tablet of smartphone at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/968948493 or by dialing using your phone at 1-(786)535-3211 and use access code: 968-948-493 at 6:30 o’clock, p.m. Wednesday the 13th of May, 2020 for the purpose of reviewing and correcting the assessment of said City for the year 2020.  All persons considering themselves aggrieved by said assessment, or who wish to complain that the property of another is assessed too low, are hereby notified to join into said meeting, and show cause of having such assessment corrected.

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson at Northside Elementary for a tour of the Northside construction. Meeting recessed at 5:28 p.m.
The meeting resumed at the BHS Media Center at 5:35 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Bill McGeary, Mary KW Langan, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson, Paul Carruth, and Gary Williams.  Members absent: None.
Under Construction, add 7.1.2 Construction Manager & General Contractor to the Agenda.
Agenda approved.
Citizens Comments: Mark Hughes talked about the importance of transporting students. Keep lights clean and keep students safe.
Consent Agenda approved.
Progress Reports presented by administrators.
Board Committee Reports: Administration Committee met with the BEA for a negotiation session; Budget Committee reviewed the FY21 budget.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE HOSPITAL REVENUE BONDS WITH GENERAL OBLIGATION PLEDGE OF SWIFT COUNTY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Swift County–Benson Hospital (the "Hospital District") intends to issue Hospital Revenue Bonds (the "Bonds"), in a principal amount of not to exceed $7,750,000, pursuant to Minnesota Laws 1992, Ch. 534, Sections 6 to 20 (the "Act"). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance the acquisition of the Scandi Haven Village, a senior housing facility consisting of 58 independent and assisted living units and 19 memory care units, located at 1710 McKinney Ave, in Benson, Minnesota (the “Project”), which is adjacent and connected to the hospital facility owned and operated by the Hospital District. The Project will be acquired from Residential Options, Inc., d/b/a/ Scandi Haven Village, of which the Hospital District is the sole member (the “Seller”), and the Seller will use the proceeds from the sale of the Project to repay certain debt related to the acquisition and renovation of the Project (the “Prior Debt”).

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF BENSON

The City of Benson does ordain:

   The Zoning Map of Benson, Minnesota, as provided by section 154.057 of the Benson City Code of 2003 is hereby amended to set forth that the property in the City of Benson detailed on the attached Exhibit A and as described and illustrated in the planner’s report and to be legally described by survey, is changed from R-2, Medium Density Residential District and B-2, General Business to I-1, Limited Industrial District.
