NOTICE OF FILING DATES FOR ELECTION TO THE SCHOOL BOARD INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777 BENSON PUBLIC SCHOOL STATE OF MINNESOTA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of School Board member of Independent School District No. 777 shall begin on July 28, 2020, and shall close at 5:00 o'clock p.m. on August 11, 2020.
The general election shall be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.  At that election, four members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years each.
Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the school district clerk, Benson Public School, 1400 Montana Avenue, Benson, MN  56215.  The filing fee for this office is $2.  A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or next ensuing general election.

Notice is hereby given that the Chippewa/Swift Joint Board of Commissioners, acting as Drainage Authority for Joint Ditch # 3 and Joint Ditch #8, will meet on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Chippewa County Courthouse located at 629 North 11th Street, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to consider the permit to Swenoda Dairy for installation of a manure pipeline that crosses the open ditch and tiles of Joint Ditch # 3 and Joint Ditch #8 in Chippewa and Swift Counties.  All persons interested in these proceedings are invited to attend this hearing in person or via teleconference.  Social distancing practices will be adhered to.  For more information about how to participate via teleconference, call the Auditor/Treasurer or Drainage Inspector at 320-269-7447 prior to the meeting date.

CHAPTER 119: SIDEWALK CAFES

§ 119.10  EXPIRATION DATE.
  This chapter permitting and regulating sidewalk cafes within the city shall expire on December 31, 2014. This provision, commonly known as a “sunset provision,” is included in this chapter to ensure that this chapter, its purpose and its desirability will be reviewed by the City Council within a reasonable time after its adoption.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota Monday, May 11, 2020 - 5:30 p.m. – Virtual Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Bill McGeary, Mary KW Langan, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson, Paul Carruth, and Gary Williams.  Members absent:  None.
Additions to the Agenda:  Under Construction Update add 7.1.1 – Approval of Change Order Log for Northside Elementary and Benson High School.
Agenda approved.
No Citizens Comments.
Consent Agenda approved.
Progress Reports presented by Administrators.
Reports were presented from the Budget Committee and the Gymnastics Committee.
Ryan Breitbach, Construction Manager, provided a construction update and a budget status report. The construction project is on schedule and on budget.
Approval of Change Order Log at Northside and Benson High School:  The board approved the recommended change orders on the high school parking lot at $215,984.41 and the high school science lab at a cost $153,500.
