MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota Monday, January 27, 2020 - 5:30 p.m. Benson High School Media Center

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson at Northside Elementary for a tour of the new construction.
Meeting recessed at 5:20 p.m.
The meeting resumed at the BHS Media Center at 5:31 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Mary KW Langan, Eric Peterson, Bill McGeary, Brian Samuelson and Gary Williams arrived at 5:33 p.m.  Members absent:  None.
No Additions to the Agenda.
Agenda approved.
No Citizens Comments.
Consent Agenda approved.
Progress Reports presented by the administrators.
Ryan Brietbach, Construction Manager, provided a detailed update including a financial update with cost impacts at Northside Elementary and the High School.

NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION:  To the Electors of the Townships of Appleton, Camp Lake, Clontarf, Cashel, Dublin, Edison, Fairfield, Hayes, Hegbert,  Marysland, Moyer, Kerkhoven, Shible, Six Mile Grove, Swenoda, and Tara; and the Cities of Clontarf, Danvers, Holloway, and Murdock, in the County of Swift, State of Minnesota, Notice is Hereby Given That a Presidential Nomination Primary Election will be held in all the above named cities and townships at 301 14th Street North, Benson, MN 56215 on Tuesday, the Third day of March, at which time the polls will be opened at 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Federal office of the President United States.

The organizational meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Brian Samuelson.
Members present:  Paul Carruth, Mary KW Langan, Bill McGeary, Gary Williams, Brian Samuelson, James Berens and Eric Peterson.  Members absent:     None
Approved Agenda.
Organization of School Board:  Brian Samuelson elected Chairperson; Gary Williams elected Vice-Chair; Mary KW Langan elected Clerk.; Bill McGeary elected Treasurer.
School board meeting schedule approved as presented for 2020, second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
Swift County Monitor-News designated the official newspaper. 
All Minnesota Depositories plus PMA Financial, TD Ameritrade and Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund, or successors, designated the Depositories. 
Authorized the Director of Finance to make electronic funds transfers and the Superintendent and Director of Finance to apply for Federal, State and other grants and programs.

Ryan Brietbach, Construction Manager, provided a construction update including a financial update and stated the project continues to be under budget and on schedule, despite the cold temperatures.
Approved Payable 2020 Levy is $3,927,887.27, a 15.96% increase compared to Payable 2019.
All options were explained regarding a City-School Lease of the Civic Center, Gymnastics Facility Details and Gymnastics Options and discussion took place.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Swift County, MN (Swift County HRA) hereby submits for public comment the Annual Plan for the years 2020-2025.
A copy of the plan and supporting documents are available at the HRA office at the Swift County Courthouse (301 14th St. N.) during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All persons are welcomed to review the proposed plan and make written comments to the Swift County HRA.
A public hearing for the plan will be held at the regular board meeting of the HRA Monday, March 30, 2020 at 5:45 p.m. at the Swift County Courthouse. The plan will be submitted for approval to the HRA Board of Commissioners following the public hearing and will be submitted to HUD prior to March 30, 2020 and after approval by the HRA Board of Commissioners.
