Benson girls fall to NLS and BOLD

The Benson girls basketball team fell twice last week, lowering the team’s overall record to 0-17 and conference mark to 0-10.
The Braves fell to NLS last Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup, 67-34, and then were routed by league-leading BOLD, Friday in Benson, 73-43.
Benson has two games scheduled this season, including a game at Morris Area-CA, Monday, and a game at home against Melrose, Thursday (tomorrow).  The Braves then go on the road for a game at KMS, Monday, Feb. 10, and at Osakis, Tuesday, Feb. 11.
NLS 67, Benson 34
The Braves stayed with NLS for most of the first half before the Wildcats went on a run toward the end of the first half and dominated the second half on the way to a 67-34 non-conference win in Benson last Tuesday night.
Benson trailed just 15-14 as Hannah Ricard and Cyra Carlson were hot at the beginning and the Braves were successful in getting the ball inside.
However, NLS went on a 21-6 run to end the first half with a 36-20 lead and then outscored the Braves 31-14 in the second half.
