The Benson-KMS gymnastics team won its seventh meet
The Benson-KMS gymnastics team won its seventh meet of the season, winning at Morris Area-CA, Friday night, 125.025-121.3.
The Fighting Braves closed out the conference schedule with a 3-1 record, losing only to Melrose, and are 7-2 overall heading into their final meet of the regular-season Monday at Ortonville.
Benson-KMS is also set to compete at the WCC meet at Morris, Saturday, Feb. 8, and then gets ready for the Section 6A meet, Saturday, Feb. 15.
BKMS 125.025, Morris-CA 121.3
Competing without senior Shayla Burns, the Fighting Braves still pulled out a 125.025-121.3 victory at Morris Area-CA, Friday night.
Benson-KMS improved to 7-2 overall in dual meets with the win. The only losses have been to Willmar and Melrose, two of the top teams in the state.
Savannah Aanerud won the all-around for Morris Area (32.55), and also won the uneven bars (8.0), and floor exercise (8.55), while her teammate, Kendra Jergenson, was fourth in the all-around (30.2) and also won the balance beam (7.75).
MiKaylie Hagen was second in the all-around (31.55), won the vault (8.9), and was second on the bars (7.9) and floor exercise (8.5).
Caitlin Flower was third in the all-around (31.1), and Sophie Ascheman was fifth (29.9). Flower was also third on the beam (7.45), fourth on the bars (7.2), and fifth on the vault (8.6), while Ascheman was also third on the floor (8.35) and fifth on the bars (7.05).
Also placing among the top five for Benson-KMS were Hannah Weber, second on the beam (7.7); Courtney Johnson, third on the vault (8.65); Carlie Lenz, second on the vault (8.675); and Halle Hanson, fifth on the beam (7.2), and fifth on the floor (8.05).
