Benson needs a new city manager

Less than two months after he was hired to be Benson’s next city manager, Chris Webb’s employment with the city is over.
After a nearly hour-long closed session Monday night, the Benson City Council voted to give Webb the choice of resigning by 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, or his employment would be terminated. He submitted his resignation to Mayor Terri Collins prior to Tuesday’s deadline.
Other than stating the options it had given Webb, the council did not explain why it was taking the action to end his employment. However, the Monitor-News had learned earlier that the city was
