Benson/KMS tennis earns two wins in two matches

The Benson/KMS boys tennis team moved their record to 5-2 on the season with a pair of victories last week. They were on the road in Redwood Falls and pulled off a close 4-3 win over the Cardinals on April 23. Next, they were back at home April 25 and easily handled Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd 6-1.

Benson/KMS boys tennis battled with Redwood Valley on the road and came out with a narrow 4-3 win with three wins in singles play.
Harold Habben dominated at four singles for Benson/KMS, taking down Redwood Valley’s Collin Johnson in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Max Young also played well at two singles for Benson/KMS with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Yzykiel Rendon. The third singles win for Benson/KMS came from Alex Carlson at two singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Cole Johnson. Blake Brehmer played the top singles spot for B/KMS and he fell in a close match to Zack Lundeen 7-5, 6-4.
Benson/KMS picked up their one doubles win at one doubles with Logan Schauer and Isaac Carlson taking down Redwood Valley’s Kanyon Hicks and Cayden Johnson-Mariner in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. The Benson/KMS two doubles team was Carson Petrak and Brandon Sondag and they lost to Laiten Goodthunder and Reese Regnier 6-2, 6-3. At three doubles, the Benson/KMS team of Joey Wilcox and Antoni Grinievin fell to Zach Malecek and Mason Davis 6-2, 6-2.

The Benson/KMS tennis team earned their second straight win with an easy 6-1 win over LqPV/DB at home.
