Braves fall to Melrose Area and Sauk Centre

The Benson baseball team lost two conference games last week after opening up the season April 5 with a win over RCW. The Braves, now 1-2 overall, lost at Melrose Area last Tuesday night, 7-2, and also fell to Sauk Centre in Benson, Thursday, 12-2.
The Braves are set to play a doubleheader at Morris Area-CA, Tuesday (yesterday) before hosting Hancock, Friday, during the annual “Burger Grill” game sponsored by the Benson Baseball Association.
Members of this year’s Benson baseball team, coached by Adam Foslien with help from assistant coach Eric Hulterstrum, are seniors Adam Lindahl, Andrew Lindahl, Connor Staton, and Max McDonald; juniors Brett Sulier, Chris Ebnet, Justin Goossen, Shawn Aarhus, Ty Hedman, and Tywon Begger; sophomores Danny Lenarz, Lane Geyer, and Brandon Osterbauer; and freshman Jared Knutson. Geyer and Osterbauer will also be playing primarily on the JV team.
