Braves snap losing streak with shutout

Five different players scored touchdowns for the Braves during a 37-0 win at home against Maple Lake, Friday night.  In addition, kicker Alberto Vargas had seven points, going 4-for-5 on extra-points and adding a 30-yard field goal for Benson’s final score.

The win pushed the Braves’ overall record to 3-4 heading into Wednesday night’s (tonight) game at Atwater-CGC to close out the regular-season.

Benson is also set to open up the Section 4A Tournament, Tuesday, Oct. 25.  The Braves will be seeded anywhere from third through fifth, but most likely, the Braves will earn the fourth or fifth seed and play KMS in the quarterfinals, either in Benson or in Murdock...
