Charlie Goff competes in Class A state golf tournament

A selection of some of the best high school golfers in Class A came together June 11-12 at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker for the state golf tournament. Representing the Benson Braves was senior Charlie Goff. He was able to break 90 in both rounds and finished the tournament in 52nd place.
Goff qualified for the state tournament by finishing seventh in the Section 5A tournament by shooting 81 on the first day, 88 on the second day for a 169 total at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar. He had the fourth best individual score outside of the winning team and five qualified for the state tournament.
In the first round, Goff fired an 83 to sit in a tie for 41st after 18 holes. Goff shot 40 on the front with a birdie, three pars and five bogeys. He shot 43 on the back with three pars, five bogeys and a double-bogey.
