CITY OF BENSON ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
At the time of Bid opening the City of Benson, Minnesota, will open and review all electronic bids received by the City of Benson, Minnesota, until 12:00 PM, CST, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and all else necessary for the following:
Benson Water Treatment Plant Clearwell and Improvements
Work consists of the installation of a clearwell located at the water treatment facility downstream of the 2 gravity filters. The work generally consists of the following:
• Installation of a new 300,000 gallon clearwell tank.
• Installation of 2 high service pumps and 1 backwash pump.
• Process piping connections to new pumps.
• Construction of the pumphouse building for high service pumps and backwash supply pump.
• Water treatment plant building extension.
• Associated electrical, structural and mechanical components.
• Water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer modifications/installation.
• Site grading, paving.

Beginning on Friday, January 14, 2022, plans will also be made available for viewing at the City Hall, located a at 1410 Kansas Avenue, Benson MN. Orders for plans and specifications in any type of media format will not be processed by the City or Stantec.

All bids must be submitted on the proposal forms furnished with the plans and specifications and enclosed in an envelope bearing the name of the contractor, and include completed forms certifying that the bidder is a responsible contractor per MN Statute 16C.285. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a certified check, cash, or bid bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract to perform said work. These certified checks, cash deposits or bid bonds of the three lowest bidders will be retained until a contract has been awarded and signed by all concerned, but no longer than 60 days. All others will be returned within 7 days after the opening of bids.
The bids for the work to be done shall be submitted upon the basis of cash payment for the work. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of 60 days after the date shown for opening thereof. The City of Benson reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities therein.
