Elenora W. Sandstrom, 76, of Benson, Minnesota died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Meadow Lane Nursing Home in Benson. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Friday, August 5, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Benson Friends of the Library and Carris Health Hospice. 
Elenora W. Sandstrom was born May 3, 1946, in Belgrade, Minnesota, the daughter of Gerald E. Pelkey and Dorothy V. (Boever) Pelkey-Henjum. She was baptized  May 25, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Church in Regal, by Rev. Joseph Lord. Elenora was confirmed October 7, 1956, at St. Francis De Sales  in Belgrade by Bishop Peter BarTholome.
Elenora grew up in Belgrade where she attended and graduated high school. She went on to a 2-year secretarial program at Willmar Vo Tech.
Elenora was united in marriage to her beloved husband, James D. Sandstrom,  September 10, 1966, at St. Francis De Sales Church in Belgrade by Rev. Victor Kinzer. Their marriage was blessed with over 52 years.
Elenora lived and worked in Benson, Minneapolis, and Willmar. She retired in 2008 to pursue her hobby of camping full-time. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles.
Elenora is survived by her children: Mary Margaret (Neil Hill) Sandstrom of Minneapolis, Kris Marie Sandstrom of Willmar, and Reginald James Sandstrom of Grove City; grandchildren: Cody Sandstrom, Brian Sandstrom, Krista (Kory) Kurkosky, Madyson Sandstrom; great grandchildren: Kamden Kurkosky and Kaylee Kurkosky; sister Gloria (Milton) Tollefson of Sunburg; and stepbrother Larry (Diane) Henjum of New London.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Sandstrom in 2019; parents, Gerald Pelkey and Dorothy (Boever) Pelkey-Henjum; stepfather, Arnold Henjum; brothers: Norbert Pelkey, Ronald Pelkey, Jerome Pelkey; and sister Geraldine (Pelkey) Wallace. Blessed be her memory.
