Gunderson, Olson earn state trip for KMS wrestling

Freshman Trey Gunderson and sophomore Jett Olson are headed to the Class A State Individual Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Gunderson (120) went 3-0 with three pins to win his second straight Section 5A title, not including the 2021 super section year, Saturday, Feb. 25, at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood. He pinned Sam Myhre of Minneota in 21 seconds in the quarterfinals then pinned Louie Tensen of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in 1:14. In the championship, Gunderson pinned Chase Smith of Minnewaska in 1:44.
