Holloway starts collegiate career 4-0 with Ridgewater men’s basketball

DeAndre Holloway had been a huge part of the KMS Saints varsity basketball program for the past few seasons, but he graduated from high school last spring. Holloway has continued his basketball career as a member of the Ridgewater men’s basketball program. Holloway has been a key contributor for the Warriors and has played a huge role in helping Ridgewater start the season 3-1.
The Warriors start the season with games against four junior varsity teams from around the area before they dive in head first into their junior college season. The first four games were against the junior varsity teams from Northwestern, Dordt University, Gustavus and Concordia.
In the first game against Northwestern, Holloway was one of the five starters and had a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
The second game of his college career was against Dordt University, Holloway led the team with 21 points, pulled in 11 rebounds and blocked two shots.
Against Gustavus, the Warriors trailed by 12 at halftime, but came roaring back to win 95-86. Holloway had a monster game with 23 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks.
Most recently, Ridgewater took on Concordia on Monday and lost their first game of the season 111-99. Holloway finished the game with 20 points, nine rebounds and five blocks, all team highs.
Through four games, Holloway is the team’s leading scorer with 20.5 points per game, shooting a team best 67.3 percent from the field. He is also leading the team with 12 rebounds and four blocks per contest.
