Memorial Day Program

America’s fallen soldiers will be honored during a service at the Benson City Cemetery, Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. This year’s speaker will be Swift County Historical Society Director Gary Mills. Mills is retired from active ministry after serving several congregations in New York City and others around the world. The Benson High School band, under the direction of  Kennedy Stromberg, will perform during the ceremony. Wreaths will be laid on the veterans’ war memorial in the cemetery by the VFW Auxiliary. Cole Oehlberg, American Legion Boy’s State winner, and Anabelle DeToy, this year’s Voice of Democracy winner, will speak. Pastor Dale Degner of Trinity Lutheran Church, will give the prayer and invocation. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the PAC at the high school.
