Janice “Jan” Lucille Aeikens, 83, of Benson, Minnesota passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Bethesda Grand Senior Living Center in Willmar, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Friday, April 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson.

Janice Lucille Aeikens was born November 16, 1939, the daughter of Melvin and Lucille (Giese) Rohloff in Appleton, Minnesota. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church-Fairfield Township by the Pastor Huber Beer and confirmed there by Rev. E. T. Mieisner. She grew up in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School.

Janice was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee Aeikens, June 28, 1958, in Montevideo, Minnesota. This union was blessed with over 64 years of marriage. She worked on the farm, at the bakery in Appleton, as a waitress for the Morris Café, and as a cook for the schools in Chandler and in Benson. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson where she was active in Ladies Aid, WELCA, the Quilting Club, and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, crocheting, and embroidery work.  Janice loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janice was called from this life Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023, at the Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar  at the age of 83 years, five months, and nine days.

Janice is survived by her husband, Kenneth Aeikens of Willmar; her children: Karlene Anderson of Plainfield, IL, Keith (Julie) Aeikens of Annandale, and Kelly (Ann) Aeikens of Benson; her grandchildren: Lindsey Anderson (Bill Price) of Nashville, TN, Brianne (Chris) Vogel of Minnetonka, Brooke Aeikens (Patrick Zoller) of Morrisville, NC, Alexander (Adrianne) Aeikens of Burnsville, Austin (Madison) Aeikens of Detroit Lakes, and Anthony Aeikens of Benson; her great grandchildren: Lily and Maverick of Burnsville; her siblings: Delno (Marlys) Rohloff, Marlene (Leland) Bier, Rhoda (Ron) Peterson, Dean (Moni) Rohloff, and Debra (Larry) Schultz; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Lucille; brothers, Gerald and Galen Rohloff; and a son-in-law Donald Anderson. Blessed be her memory.
