Jerry Christenson, October 22, 1949 • March 26, 2023

Jerry Loren Christenson passed away at his home in Benson, Minnesota, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 73.

Jerry was born October 22, 1949, to Florence and Lloyd Christenson in Willmar, Minnesota. He grew up there and graduated from Willmar High School. Jerry’s special gift was salesmanship. While still in high school, Jerry started out his life long career in sales by selling pots and pans door-to-door. After graduation, he started selling material handling equipment. He went on to become Sales Manager and later he used his talent to train salespeople for many heavy equipment companies in Minneapolis. Many of his trainee’s went on to receive top awards.

Jerry retired to Yuma, Arizona in 2013.  Not able to sit idle for long, Jerry continued in sales at businesses around the Yuma area. He returned to Minnesota in January of 2023.

Jerry was very proud of his three sons, Troy, Jeremy and Jason. He and his former wife Carol enjoyed hosting holidays at the “cabin” and buying many presents for all his grandkids. They also enjoyed having the grandkids at the lake in the summer and made wonderful memories.

Jerry is survived by his three sons: Troy (Jill), Jeremy and Jason (Kari) Christenson, seven grandchildren: Ashley, CarsonLee, Jack, Cody, Chase, Dylan and Tyler, three great-grandchildren: Emmitt, Sequoia and Thielen, brothers: DuWayne (Joyce) Hagen and Denny (Vicky) Hagen and sister: Linda (Cy) McAdam.

Jerry was preceeded in death by his parents, one brother Elroy Hagen and his nephew Eric Hagen.

A celebration of life is scheduled for May 7, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at the Delano American Legion in Delano, Minnesota.  Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Willmar at a later time.
