Kletscher wins one at state, Duncan-Multhauf go 0-2

The Benson / Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg girls tennis team was represented by three players at the Class A State Girls Tennis Tournaments last Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28, at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
Sophomore Elle Kletscher advanced to state as the runner-up from Section 3A while doubles pair Elise Duncan and Greta Multhauf breezed through Section 3A competition en route to a first-place finish to earn their state bid.
Kletscher went 1-2 at the state singles tournament. She lost in straight sets to No. 5 seed Leah Maddock of Osakis 6-0, 6-0. Later Thursday, she beat Olivia Moore of Cotter 6-0, 4-6, 10-3 before falling in the consolation semifinals Friday morning 6-0, 6-2 to Annika Harberts Ott of Providence Academy.
