Margaret Ann Fenstra Tollefson, 91, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, after a brief illness. Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Powersville United Methodist Church, 195 Lakeview Road, Byron, Georgia, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Dr. John Beck will officiate. Burial will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church Cemetery, in Benson, Minnesota. Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate.
Born in DeGraff, Minnesota, to the late John Henry Fenstra and Bessie Mae Pierson Fenstra, Mrs. Tollefson married her husband, the late Arnold LeRoy Tollefson, October 28, 1951. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants before becoming a cook at Meadow Lane Nursing Home. She retired from Meadow Lane in 2003, after 30 years of service there. In 2005, she moved to Byron to be with her daughter.
A life long member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, she attended Powersville United Methodist Church while living in Byron. She loved the Minnesota Twins Baseball, the Atlanta Braves, her many pets, coffee and donuts.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey Tollefson (Kim), Brad Tollefson, and Deborah Toftee (John); grandchildren: Justin LeRoy Stelzer (Beth), Ashley Valery Baldwin (Dylan), Kayla Ann Martinez (Samuel), and Mackenzi Ruth Toftee; great grandchildren: Arnold Stelzer, Evalee Baldwin, and Amelia Baldwin; a sister, Elizabeth Rippberger; brother in law, Merlin Skarsten; sister in law, Sandy Fenstra; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold LeRoy Tollefson, two sisters, and five brothers.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Powersville United Methodist Church, 195 Lakeview Road, Byron, GA 31008. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of local arrangements. Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson is in charge of arrangements in Minnesota.
