McGeary first, team second at WCC Meet

The Benson-KMS gymnastics team placed second of five teams at the season-ending WCC Gymnastics Meet, Friday night in Benson.
Melrose won the team title with 141.7 points, followed by the Fighting Braves with 137.7 points, which is the second-highest point total for the team this season.
Libby McGeary won the all-around title by .05 over Courtney Althaus, of Melrose, and McGeary also won the vault.
“The girls had a great meet and at the conclusion of Friday night’s WCC meet, Libby McGeary, Elise Duncan, and Lexi Hoberg were named All Conference and Tori Andrews was awarded All Conference honorable mention,” coach Kathy Ahrndt said.
This week, the gymnasts get ready for the Section 6A Gymnastics Meet in Litchfield, which is set for noon, Saturday.
