Memorial Day service is Monday

Memorial Day Services for the Benson area will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, at the Benson City Cemetery. In the event of rain, services will be moved into the Benson High School Performing Arts Center.

The Rev. Gary Mills, a Benson High School graduate who spent 18 years of his ministry in New York City and is now the director of the Swift County Historical Society, will be the speaker.

The Voice of Democracy speaker for the VFW is Eric Tolifson and American Legion Boys State speaker is Ryan Dale. The invocation and Benediction will be given by Rev. Arlon Lee.

VFW Auxiliary members will present wreathes at the veterans memorial. The Benson High School band will also perform.

The Contarf service is set for the Clontarf Cemetery at 8 a.m. Monday.
