NL-Sunburg fall to Twins
The Norway Lake-Sunburg Lakers amateur baseball team improved to 5-2 overall with an 8-1 victory over Paynesville, Sunday night in Paynesville.
The Lakers had three homers as Aaron Zimmer and Jordan Johnson both had three-run shots, and Chad Searcy added a solo homer.
Norway Lake-Sunburg has now won four games in a row after starting out the season 1-2. The Lakers are set to host Regal at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at Norway Lake.
NL-Sunburg 8, Paynesville 1
Chad Searcy hit a solo homer in the first inning to give Norway Lake-Sunburg an early 1-0 lead, which stood up through the fifth inning when Paynesville plated its only run to tie up the game at 1-1.
The Lakers went ahead for good on a three-run homer by Aaron Zimmer in the seventh inning, and then added four more runs in the eighth, three coming on another three-run homer by Jordan Johnson.
Norway Lake-Sunburg outhit the Pirates, 13-7, as Jordan Johnson was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a homer to lead the way.
