NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED MANAGEMENT OF SHAKOPEE LAKE IN CHIPPEWA COUNTY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held by the Department of Natural Resources on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00 p.m. The hearing will be held remotely via WebEx or audio conferencing for Shakopee Lake in Chippewa County (T 119N, R 38W, Section(s) 6, 7 (DOW inventory 12003000) pursuant to M.S. 103G.408.

All interested persons are invited to attend and present formal testimony or ask questions regarding the lake project. Proposed management includes DNR wildlife managers working cooperatively with the Joint Ditch #18 Drainage Authority to periodically manage water levels on the lake in an effort to remove rough fish, improve water quality, and enhance fish and wildlife habitat. A presentation of the proposed management plan will be given at the hearing. A copy of the plan can also be provided by contacting DNR Wildlife Lake Specialist Josh Kavanagh whose contact information is listed below.

Written testimony is welcome and will be accepted at the address below through Nov. 1st, 2021.
